Our goal is your satisfaction.  We care about your comfort and want your stay with us to be memorable and satisfying.  Rolling Hills Lodge has been the recipient of TripAdvisor's esteemed Travelers Choice Award for multiple years running.  Our guests are talking. Located on the tribal grounds, we are centrally located to many of Cherokee's cultural attractions, shopping, and restaurants.  That means, once you arrive, you can relax, leave the car behind, as you explore on foot, cool off in the Oconaluftee River, or experience the thrill of Mountain Biking the Fire Mountain Trails.

  • Clean room best location in the cultural section of the Cherokee reservation. Plenty to do without having to drive around. Great breakfast, great service. All rooms are no smoking and no pets! Thank goodness! I found this to be the best price for your money. Cute village shopping across the street, the river, museum and quala arts center, Fairgrounds, Unto these hills stadium, working Indian village, a beautiful Park and Indian dancers... All in walking distance of this hotel! Looks like the new side of town. We saw ELK and an eagle, ducks and geese and Plenty of birds on this Rolling hills lodge property! Quiet nights And smokey mountains All in view. Lots to Explore with The Smokey Mountain National Park just 2 miles down the road! Casino is a little over a mile away. (Casino side of town is run down) I recommend "native tap and brew" for dinner ...($10 to 18 for dinner) or "wize guys pizza and burgers" down the street for lunch.. and Peter's pancake and waffle house has a good breakfast too...(about $20. For one person) But most important this hotel is all you need I will definitely come back to Rolling hills lodge next time I am in town ....Don't waste your time trying to figure out where to stay ...this is the place to go! The people are nice here A nice getaway.
  • We stayed June 25th - 26th. The front desk employee was friendly and helpful at check-in. The room was clean and appeared up to date. Breakfast is served at 8am but the lady was nice enough to start at 7am. The freshly made breakfast burritos were excellent and they provided other food as well. We already plan to come back next month on another motorcycle ride.

  • My husband and I spent the night here after a long motorcycle ride from Ohio. This motel is set back from the road, but you can walk across the street and buy some new moccasins , get an ice cream cone, visit the Museum of the Cherokee, or just sit and relax outside in front of your room. Room as described in other reviews: clean, cozy, quiet, bed very comfortable. I liked the spacious bathroom; updated and modern (Time saving tip: shower turns on by pulling down on the ring by spigot head!) Complimentary breakfast was wonderful! I was very impressed with how attractive it was arranged and the generous selection despite being in the small lobby. Owners were very friendly and interesting to talk to.
  • This is a family owned and operated boutique hotel that is amazing. I like peace and quite at a good price. Mark and his staff did a wonderful job keeping my room and my needs met. I never really needed much but someone was always available to help. The rooms are large and well furnished. I hope to go again in the Spring and will definitely be staying here again!
  • Had to make a quick trip to Cherokee for a couple days and this is the only place I will ever stay at! Rolling Hills Lodge is my favorite place there in Cherokee because the owners (Mark & Sue) are soooooo friendly and make me feel like I'm at home. I stayed in the room with 2 king beds (#30) and absolutely loved it!!!!! Was able to park right in front of my room and sit on the rocking chairs to relax out front of my door. Everything I needed was within walking distance, and I'll be back to do some trout fishing and tubing in the river across the street this summer. Can't wait to see you two lovely hosts again. Thank you for making my stay the best!!!! Honestly, if I could leave 10 stars I would.
  • Was totally surprised by just how clean the room was. I always notice the baseboards in a room because they are not usually cleaned very often. This room was cleaned top to bottom, and every nook cranny. Also, the nicest hotel staff. I stopped by early just to check on the shuttle and was offered the key to our room....4 hours early! Would absolutely stay here again.

  • Cherokee is a very interesting town in North Carolina with lots to do in and around the area . If you ride motorcycles the hotel is very welcoming and the surrounding roads make this a worthwhile place to explore.
  • The hotel was recently rebuilt but still retains the family ran motel vibe one seeks on road trips like the one we were on. The bathroom, carpet and bed were clean and new. Shower water pressure was great. Staff was super eager to please. They had a nice comp breakfast and outdoor eating nook. I slept like a rock. The local transit service ran me over to the casino for one dollar with just a quick call and five minute wait. I highly recommend the motel. The only minor thing I can complain about is stumping my toes on the dresser that is too close to the bathroom door making a narrow pathway to walk back into the bedroom.

  • What a great hotel! The room was spacious with large..comfortable king bed. The bathroom was clean and also very large. I was hesitant about staying on a main road. But I hardly heard any traffic all night. The clerk was so friendly and welcoming. They do offer a nice breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be back if in the area again. Would highly recommend!
  • I go to Cherokee NC about twice a month and have stay at the casino hotel and several in the area. This is by far the best stay I've had here. This will be my getaway spot for sure it gets five stars. For cleanliness and location.
  • This hotel is in the best location !!! It is within walking distance of all attractions and restaurants....... and across the street from the beautiful river. Sue your customer service is to be commended...Thank You.
  • So glad I chose this hotel. Very clean, quiet, comfortable beds, great shower, rocking chairs outside your door, best price! Would definitely stay again! Also, convenient for walking. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

  • I needed a place to stay Friday night (5/14/21) just before hiking the Alum Cave trail to Mt. LeConte..Rolling Hills did not disappoint! Easiest motel/lodge check-in I've ever had. Drove up, told the guy my name, gave me the wifi password and I was on my way to the room. The room was just right...clean, good HVAC, hot shower, and just enough room for me! I left too early for breakfast but I'm sure it was good. I will definitely stay again in the future when I hike one of the other trails to LeConte! Thanks!
  • I am so pleased with this lodge. Me and 4 of my friends friends had a great time in these clean rooms we each stayed in. Great location in Cherokee. This lodge is close to everything and has a delicious breakfast. We saw elk on the property. And loved to sit out on the rocking chairs just enjoying the town village Mountain View. Right across the street is a beautiful big river that we go swimming in. The staff was helpful and nice. We all went to the fire Mt bike trail just behind the lodge up the mountain. 2 miles down the street was the entrance to the smoky mountain National Park lots to do there as well. There is a beautiful park by the lodge that you can walk around and swim in the river. One night we went to the casino had A-blast and also saw a concert. My friends and I think this is truly the best place to stay in Cherokee and we'll definitely return next time we are going to the mountains. We all felt like this was the best choice and so glad we did it! We all said "this was the best vacation we ever had" and "so glad we did it!" So much to do around this lodge! I saw a lot of migrating birds that are endangered. I took some pictures of birds at the lodge... Not that good photos... but it will do!
  • I loved being in the heart of the countryside. The lodge was clean and the rooms were spacious. Evenings on the porch spent listening to the river, talking, laughing and listening to good music made me feel like I was on my own porch in my dream location. I saw elk and they are magnificent. The surrounding Smoky Mountains are ethereal. There is a little town nearby with great restaurants and fun shops. The Lodge is a great place to stay and the price is reasonable.

  • This motel is a dream. I love everything about it. The front desk was super friendly and suggested i head to the park which is super close and watch the elk come out at dusk and a great restaurant just down the street. Lovely folks. The bed is comfy and the room and bathroom are spotless. You can even sit out front of your room in a rocking chair, relax and gaze at the mountains. I'll be back and will be telling people about the best place to stay in cherokee.
  • I absolutely loved Rolling Hills Lodge. Mark, Sue and the maid service were the friendliest people to me, being a young female adult staying in Cherokee for 6 weeks and being my first long stay from home I felt completely taken care of. This was the only hotel that accommodated me needing a place for 6 weeks, as other places needed a "higher" up to approve, would have made me change rooms every weekend, could only have me stay during the week not weekends, would have charged me a lot more for weekends, etc. When I met Mark, he was able to show me one of his rooms that night (unlike any other place), and the minute I saw it, I instantly knew this is where I wanted to stay. They made me feel so safe and made sure I had everything I needed everyday. The room was perfect, he gave me an awesome rate for being there for a full 6 weeks, and we worked out when I would need my room cleaned. Their hospitality was one of a kind and they always had great recommendations about places to eat or things to do. During the 6 weeks, issues did arise such as the owner having a major health scare, and a tree falling causing a live wire to fall right next to my car, and in both instances Sue still made sure I was okay even though she had enough worry about her spouse and the fact that both of these issues were not in any way her or the lodges' fault and she still provided great hospitality to make sure I was okay. The room was perfect size, they provided a microwave for me due to being a long stay but they do have some outside of the rooms that guests can use. I loved having a full size mirror in the bathroom along with a place to hang some clothes, cute chairs to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The room was very clean at first night and every time after the maid service cleaned. If I ever get the chance to go back to Cherokee I know where I will stay. I can not thank these owners enough. Great lodge. Great rooms. Great owners!!

  • Very clean motel. Rooms look like new as they have been recently updated after remodeling. Beautiful sunrise from the rocking chairs outside the door. Definitely will be coming back to this little gem. Family owned for more than 50 years and their hospitality shows it.
  • Hotel management were very friendly. We were upgraded to a room with two king-sized beds at no cost. The room was very clean and spacious with all the accommodations one could ever desire. Showers and sinks were new. The location was convenient, as there were restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.
  • Could we have booked a night in a chain hotel or the casino in Cherokee? Absolutely but, after staying at the Rolling Hills Lodge I'm glad we didn't. Rolling hills is located close to shopping, museums, dining (Peter's is great for breakfast) and the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Morelands are a terrific couple that actually care about your comfort and will be the first to point out points of interest, the local transit schedule, and where you can get the best breakfast in town. Rooms at the lodge are large, clean and well appointed, the beds are comfortable, soft and have plenty of pillows, if passing through Cherokee on business or pleasure make sure you don't miss this diamond in the mountains.

  • My family (husband, son and myself) went on a short weekend getaway to Cherokee North Carolina. We got to town about 12am. We stopped in Rolling Hills Lodge to get a room. The room was by far the best hotel room we have ever stayed in anywhere. 2 king size beds, large room, Very very clean. This room was comfortable, clean, and way more than we could ever expect. The owner greeted us at the door and was so welcoming and inviting. The only place we will ever stay anytime we go to Cherokee. I could not say enough good things about this place. I have recommended them to everyone I know that is going to Cherokee.
  • I visited Cherokee for a long weekend and found a gem amongst all the typical chain hotels you see everywhere. We noticed the Lodge from the highway as we drove into Cherokee and immediately knew this is where we wanted to stay. As we were checking in, I was informed the Hotel had just undergone a complete renovation and we were the first people to stay in the room we rented!! The room we rented was indeed brand new and the fresh smell was proof. The Rolling Hills Lodge is the perfect combination of clean room, competitive price, location and overall attention to the details that make your stay at a Hotel enjoyable.
  • Loved this hotel. First impressions were very reassuring. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. It is very easy and practical for access to the rooms. I have slight mobility issues and moving into and around the rooms (which are spacious) posed no problems for me. The bed was very comfortable and it was the best night's sleep I have had in a good while. Our room was very modern and clean (as was the rest of the hotel). Bathroom was great too. Again no issues with mobility and the bathroom felt good to be in. This might read strange but the room we were in smelled 'good'. It smelled clean. Not a disinfectant smell but just clean and fresh. Everything in our room was working and it all pretty much looked and felt new. Cherokee is a beautiful town and we had lovely view from our window across the town and onto the hills and forest beyond. Having stayed with friends for most of our holiday I was concerned that this place would feel like we were kind of 'stepping down' but I need not have worried. It was great. The view from our room across into the town was wonderful Parking is good too.The proprietor of the hotel really took care of us and made us feel welcome. The whole thing just has a relaxed 'right' feel and I was sad to check out. Oh and one last word of advice. Don't miss the scrambled eggs at breakfast. They are to die for!
  • We called and booked direct - very efficient. When we arrived, check in was quick and easy. Very clean room, super comfy bed and pillows. Mini fridge. The owners were always available. We're booked for mid-October return trip! This location is convenient to shopping, the museum, the river, many restaurants yet just far enough away from the casino to remind you of Cherokee as it was when I was younger. We walked everywhere! We visited the casino twice, for an afternoon to check it out, and back the next night for dinner. We also enjoyed the 2.5 hour horseback ride to the falls with Smokemont Riding Stables, diving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and watching elk rutting just down the road from the hotel. Can't say enough good things about the property and the people that run it.
  • Spending several nights at the Rolling Hills Lodge in Cherokee NC was a great decision. I was given an early check in! That's a nice start. The hotel is convenient to shopping and restaurants. The staff are kind and accommodating. They are always available to help with local directions too. The room is small but set up nicely. The bed is good, firm. Beautiful linens, comfortable chair , great AC. The bathroom is BIG. The place is clean and neat. Parking is directly in front of your door. Rocking chairs add a nice touch to the walkway outside the rooms. I will be back. I don't always say that but Rolling Hills Lodge is a great little place to stay in the heart of Cherokee NC!
  • I truly enjoyed staying here. Is very quiet. It is on the main drag, close to everything. The rooms were very nice and clean and new. The queen size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the manager and his wife were so nice and accommodating. She makes a fantastic refreshing peach drink.
